By: T. J. Layne
COAL GROVE, OHIO-The Rocky Top Raceway is proud to announce something new at the track, season passes. Race fans can purchase a general admission season pass for $180. With a purchase of the pass, race fans will be admitted into all races from April until August, including special event races where admission prices may be higher depending on size of the race. General admission for the 2006 season will remain the same at $12.
Season passes for the pits will also be on sale this season for $400. With the purchase of this pass, you will be admitted to the pits for all races from April until August, including special event races where the admission price may be raised. A regular pit pass for the 2006 season will be $25. If any races are scheduled into the month of September, the season passes for both the general admission section and the pits will not be able to be used. Passes expire after the August 25th races. If you are interested in buying a season pass, call the track office and leave a message at 1-740-547-3478.
There is one rule change for the 2006 Modified class. All Modifieds must run an 8 inch tire and wheel (same as last year) with any brand (Ex. Hoosier, American Racer) allowed. The 2006 Bomber division will also see a rule change concerning tires and wheels. We will run steel wheels only with an 8 inch racing tire and wheel of any brand and a 10 inch street tire and wheel. With the 2006 4 cylinder/6 cylinder division, until the class see’s car counts around twenty each week, the rules will remain open. The 2006 Late Model division will once again follow MACS Series rules.
A payout has also been announced for the 4 cylinder/6 cylinder division. First place will pay $100 with second paying $75, third paying $50, and fourth through 20th paying $25. With high car counts, the purse is subject to be raised as the season goes on. For more information go to the tracks website at www.rockytopracewayinc.com or email us at rockytopraceway@yahoo.com.
