K-C Raceway Grand Opening

CHILLICOTHE- After fighting with the weather for three weeks, K-C Raceway
near Chillicothe hopes to finally open its gates this Saturday night, April 17 when
the AMRA Road Warrior series comes to town. The Road Warrior modifieds
will be joined by Late Models and Hobby Stocks.
K-C Raceway Promoter Jim Nier will bring up the curtain for the 2004 season
at his showplace of speed Saturday, April 17th, and in doing so will kick
off the season for the American Motor Racing Association's 'Ultimate
Challenge' - the 'AMRA Road Warrior Tour'.
The appropriately named 'Eye Opener 30' will give race fans and racers alike
the first view at the many improvements Nier and his hard working staff have
prepared at the immaculate 3/8 mile speed bowl.
In addition, fans will be treated to the season opener for the RWT, crucial
to any driver who is serious about claiming the title of "King of the Road"
as the 2004 AMRA Road Warrior Champion.
Past RWT events at KC have drawn 50+ competitors to the Chillicothe, Ohio
track which is steeped in open wheel history.
While the spring race was washed out in 2003, the summer event was captured
by Tim Tribby, with the inaugeral event in 2002 going to Aaron Morey.
2 time defending AMRA RWT champion Dave Groves of Morgantown WV is expected
to return for a title defense, as he attempts to make AMRA history with a
"threepeat" as AMRA RWT champion.
It will be an "Eye Opening" night of action as the best open wheel
modified's prepare to show fans and the competition that they are
championship caliber racers at the "Eye Opener 30"!

The American Motor Racing Association sanctions open wheel modified auto
racing in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The following Saturday, April 24, K-C will host a full racing program for the first
time this season with 410 super sprints, Late Models, Hobby Stocks and Modifieds.
