The Pit Gate Forum (www.pitgate.com) has just become a full service web site covering all the fantastic dirt track racing in the Buckeye State. Pit Gate started out as the “Official Forums for Big Right Rear”, but has grown into something more than that. The forums and their affiliation with www.bigrightrear.com are still there, but now there is much, much more. The new web covers “Ohio Dirt Track Racing News” as well as tons of cool stuff for the fans to see, do, and download. For our registered users we have custom screen savers, custom wallpapers, vintage photos, recent photos, and other miscellaneous downloads. Registration is free, but is required to access these cool features. Planned for the near future are audio archives of the “Last Lap” radio broadcast where hosts Brian Liskai and Scott Barman interview different drivers on the air each Monday night on Eagle 99.1. Also, we will have audio interviews with different area drivers posted by Brian Liskai and DC Bash. We are working on permission to archive the Eagle 99.1 live radio broadcasts of the racing action at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park so that the fans all over the US and even the drivers themselves can listen to past races in streaming audio. We will also be scheduling live driver/crew online chat sessions with the fans in the new Pit Gate chat room. Registered users can also chat with each other or local drivers at any given time. We’ve even added a Pit Gate Arcade where you can play some classic games online between racing weekends.
Another Pit Gate Exclusive will be the Pit Gate Driver of the Year competition. It will be known as the “Buckeye Open Wheel Dirt Organization Winner Nominations”, or B.O.W.D.O.W.N. for short. This is a fun, friendly competition we have created for the fans to help promote Ohio drivers. We have devised rules and a points system that can be viewed at the Pit Gate site. We are looking for product and cash sponsors for payout at the end of the season for winners in the 305, 360, and 410 sprint divisions. If this goes well, we will add the trucks and late models in 2006.
The talent pool in Ohio has never run dry and the Pit Gate “Pit Crew” have decided it was finally time to recognize the great racing and racers in this part of the country. It has been said that “Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway have the best two day racing package this side of Lincoln and The Grove.” We believe that statement to be quite accurate. The competition here has increased each and every year and there is no end in site to the great racing we will experience live each weekend. Pit Gate, however, will not be limited to covering these two tracks. We will also be covering any and all dirt track racing in the Buckeye state, as well as any Ohio drivers racing out of state. We will be relying heavily on the participation from the fans to submit news, results, stories, and general information.
Pit Gate is an interactive web site BY Ohio fans, FOR Ohio fans, but it is in no way limited to JUST Ohio fans. It is no longer just a message board. We encourage everyone to log in and see what we have to offer. 2005 is a new beginning. Come and hang out in the pits. The Pit Gate is always open and pit passes are always FREE.
