Inaugural Pennsboro Speedway Reunion to Be Held at 42nd Annual Hillbilly 100
Join us on Sunday, September 5, 2010 for the historic Pennsboro Speedway Reunion at the 42nd Annual Hillbilly 100 at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. The magic of the Pennsboro Speedway will be alive and well as former and present racers converge back to the Mountain State for a trip down memory lane, paying homage to a true icon in the sport, the Pennsboro Speedway and the brave racers who accepted the challenge of besting the Ritchie County oval.
The Pennsboro Speedway was an important track in the history of our sport and of our racing heritage. The “Boro”, as she became known as, was the scene of history-making races. She has been the birth place of some terrific careers, provided Cinderella stories for some and crushing twists of fate for others. She was also known for having some record breaking purses and was the setting for one of the most special atmospheres in all of motorsports. Pennsboro always prompts some great stories when mentioned to anyone who was there as a spectator or a participant. This truly historic facility, filled with great racing memories, will be shared and remembered by those who were lucky enough to witness the magic that was Pennsboro.
The reunion events will include a fan friendly driver meet and greet autograph session with the legends of the Pennsboro Speedway. This will allow the fans a chance to meet their former racing heroes in a casual atmosphere where they can take pictures, get autographs and just enjoy recalling the glory days of the past. Prior to the running of the 42nd Annual Hillbilly 100, there will be on track interviews and presentations. Also, there will be a once in a life time collectors item raffled off, a framed photo of the legendary Pennsboro Speedway signed by all participating reunion legends. A display of vintage race cars and lots of great Pennsboro racing memorabilia, and more will be on display all weekend.
