Suddenlink King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series 2008 !!!!
Apple Grove, WV. February 4, 2008~ The new year is here and the Suddenlink King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series, approved by the American Motor Racing Association is firing on all 8 cylinders hard and heavy! New tracks! New Drivers! New Sponsors! New Engines! New Chassis! We’re ready to rock and roll in 2008!
We’d like to welcome Elkins Motor Speedway to the team along with returning tracks Beckley Motor Speedway and Tyler County Speedway. O’brion Oval Speedway will again host events for the “Knights of the Round Track” plus negotiations are still under way for still more tracks. Still looking for a Racefest Schedule TBA as well. ..
All Suddenlink King of the Mountains sanctioned tracks are also approved by the American Motor Racing Association. To be approved by the American Motor Racing Association the track must agree to run 1 or more classes by AMRA’s standardized rules for that class, agree to provide adequate tech inspection to maintain the integrity of the class( s), have insurance, and other criteria outlined in the contractual agreement. As a driver, fan, or sponsor you can have confidence in any AMRA approved track.
We have several new programs being unveiled for 2008 to include the Suddenlink King of the Mountains Manufacturer’s Cup, the PBM Iron Outlaw Signature Engines, the Suddenlink AMRA King of the Mountains Promoter of the Year Award, the PBM Iron Man Award , the PBM IRON ROCS bonus program, the Suddenlink King of the Mountains Rookie of the Year Award, and the Contingency Connection Bonus Awards program! Swartz Race Cars, a Competition Advisory Committee, Wrisco Aluminum, GCP Engines, Watson Ruppel Performance, Pro Power Performance , and more!
Hoosier Racing Tire, Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley, Dave Poske’s Performance Parts, and Sunoco Race Fuels are increasing their contributions in 2008! We currently have several events paying $1000 to win or MORE in 2008 with others pending!
One of those races will be the Madness in the Mountains KoM Topless 30 race at Beckley Motor Speedway paying $2000 to win!!! Beckley Motor Speedway has been a leader in our racing community being the 1st track in our region to move into the 21st century by requiring Raceceivers and installing a transponder system.
Tyler County Speedway, also a leader in our region, has been the Flagship of the Suddenlink King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series will be the 1st of our area tracks to go to GMPP and PBM Iron Outlaw Engines Only in 2008!!! With the addition of the PBM Iron Outlaw Signature Engines we now have the ability to meet our goals of making racing more affordable, and more competitive, for more people; and continue to include our local engine builders, parts suppliers, people who build their own engines, as well as GMPP Crate engines. We will use information learned through this 2nd year of our series to standardize this program throughout the Suddenlink King of the Mountains Weekly Racing Series region next year in 2009!
The PBM Iron Outlaw Signature Engine program includes 2 engines comparable to the GMPP 602 and GMPP 604 named the PBM Iron Outlaw I and PBM Iron Outlaw II. The will also be a Ford version named the PBM Iron Outlaw Boss as well as the Dodge version hailed the PBM Iron Outlaw Magnum. All these engines will be comparable in price and performance to their GMPP counter parts.
