official press release:
AMRA president Bill Hayes has released news of the "Triple Crown Challenge",
a 3 race weekend for the AMRA Road Warrior Tour.
"We have 3 nights of racing for the Road Warrior Tour scheduled on Memorial
Day weekend, beginning on Friday night May 28th at Skyline Speedway, the
following Saturday night (29th) at Midway Speedway, and then concluding on
Sunday night (30th) at Tyler County Speedway."
The tracks are within easy towing distance of each other, the following
Monday is a holiday, and with as many racer's as we anticipate following
this 3 night deal, the AMRA board approached the respective promoters with
the "Triple Crown Challenge" idea."
AMRA vice president Larry Keefer stated: "Skyline promoter Lou Hubbard,
Midway's Ted Johnson and the new 'BDS promotions' team at Tyler County have
agreed to work with AMRA in 'upping the ante' by offering any racer who can
win all 3 features a $1000.00 bonus."
With the close proximity of these tracks, along with the RWT purse structure
and the 'Triple Crown Challenge' bonus possibility should provide for
tremendous car counts all 3 nights" Keefer added.
The AMRA Road Warrior Tour 'Triple Crown Challenge' will kick off with the
Friday night running of the 'Thunder 30' at Skyline Speedway near Stewart,
Ohio.
The following evening, action will move to the Midway Speedway near
Crooksville, Ohio with the running of the 'Ceramic Meltdown 30'.
The weekend will conclude on Sunday night at the Tyler County (fairgrounds)
Speedway near Middlebourne, WV with the 'Mountaineer 30'.
