Kaetzel First Time Winner at Brushcreek

(Peebles, Ohio) As the warm Saturday afternoon sun faded into the night, the racing action heated on the high banks of Brushckreek Motorsports Complex. West Union, Ohio's Marty Huntley drove his Huntley Napa Auto Parts, Huntley Race Engines, American Sound, AFCO Shocks, American Racer Tire, Sunoco Race Fuels, Swartz chassis to his third late model feature win this season. Peebles, Ohio's Dave Jamison drove his Central Star Drilling, North Star Drilling, Marshall Campbell Race Engines, Lightning chassis to his second career modified feature win. West Union, Ohio's Taylor Grooms drove his RHK Motors, G&F Trailer Transport, State Farm Insurance Chevette to his third Chevette/4 cylinder feature win in a row. Sardinia, Ohio's Mark Kaetzel drove his B&M Wrecker Service sponsored bomber to the feature win. Peebles, Ohio's Tom Partin took the 4 cylinder trophy dash win, while Matt Nichols picked up his first Legend feature win.
Bethel, Ohio's Joel Orberg and Clarksville, Ohio's John Whitney brought the late model feature field to the green. The two fired into turn one side by side, but Whitney would get sideways coming out of the turn causing his Mastersbuilt chassis to slide back to fifth. Sixth starting Marty Huntley would take advantage of the near first lap disaster and charge past the front runners to claim the top spot. The action was slowed on lap eight when Brian Day looped his Rocket chassis in turn two to bring out the caution. On the restart Huntley shot to the lead over Terry Smart, John Whitney, Bill Blair Jr., and Joel Ortberg. Huntley continued to hold the advantage over Terry Smart and John Whitney until the action was slowed on lap sixteen when the caution waved for debris on the track. On the restart, Huntley would once again pull the lead over Terry Smart and John Whitney. Huntley would began to stretch his lead over Smart and Whitney until the action was slowed for the final time on lap eighteen when the 00 of Brian Day slowed in turn four. On the restart, Huntley once again began to pull away from Smart and Whitney. Huntley would hold on to pick up his third feature win this year. Following Huntley across the line was Terry Smart, John Whitney, Bill Blair Jr., and Darran Kattine rounding out the top five.
Peebles Ohio's Dave Jamison and Clarksville, Ohio's John Whitney brought the modified feature field to the green. Dave Jamison jumped out to the early lead over Whitney. The action would be slowed with a lap seven caution when the 00 of Rob LeMaster slowed to a stop against the turn four wall. On the restart, Jamison would pull to the lead over Dave McWilliams Jeremy Scott, John Whitney, Brad White and Joe Brewer. Jamison continued to stretch his lead, leaving the Dave McWilliams Jeremy Scott, and John Whitney to battle it out for second. Jamison cruised to his second feature win. Following Jamison across the line was Dave McWilliams, Jeremy Scott, John Whitney and Brad White rounding out the top five.
West Union Ohio's Steve Duederstadt and Peebles Ohio's Gary Rowland brought the Chevette/4cylinder feature field to the green. By the time the field had completed a lap around the 1/3 mile speed plant sixth starting Taylor Grooms had shot to the lead. Grooms would cruise to a half track win over Tom Partin, Matt Nichols, Gary Rowland, and Randy Johnson rounding out the top five.
Sardinia Ohio's J.B. Warner and Olive Hill Kentucky's Justin Jaynes brought the bomber feature field to the green. Justin Jaynes shot to the early lead followed by Roy York, Jeff Stamm, and Mark Kaetzel. By lap three, sixth starting Kaetzel had worked his way to the top spot. Keatzel received pressure from York for the top spot until York looped his #31 Camero in turn four coming to the checkered flag. Following Kaetzel across the line was Justin Jaynes, Roy York, Jeff Stamm and Shane Murray rounding out the top five.
Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will be back in action on Saturday June 23 with a regular race program of late models, modifieds, chevette/4 cylinders, legends, bombers and trophy 4 cylinders. The Little Creek Karting Complex will also return to action Saturday June 23 with a full race program.
