Jackson Co. Speedway is a textbook perfect 1/3 mile high banked dirt track. Dave Landrum could make a living preparing dirt tracks for a race. It is a thrill to drive on the track he has prepared. Problem: car count. We have been there several times and either had to run for a reduced purse or get back our pit fees and go home. Dave is a great guy and will run us and pay us Late Models and Semi lates if you guys will show up. He can't run a show on 3-4 cars. I don't know what the problem is. It's a great track. Best track to race on in tri-state and not just my opinion. If you guys want Dave to run us call him at 740-286-6151 and tell him. If we show up so will he.

1/3-mile?
They must have extended it since I was there last Fall. It was a small 1/4-mile then.

Jackson Co. has always been advertised as a 1/3 mile track. Go to chasinracin.com check out track locator. Gives locations and sizes of tracks. Jackson is posted as 1/3 mile. I have never measured it but that is what it has always been advertised as. Willard, ky. is 1/4 mile and I know Jackson is bigger(and better) having raced on both tracks. Dave did widen it some and increased the banking but he hasn't lengthened it. Best track I have been on regardless of size anyway. If Dave had a good promoter the track would be a household word at least in the homes of racers in WV, OH, and Ky.
