FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 3, 2004 SKYLINE SPEEDWAY STEWART, OH SKYLINE SPEEDWAY LOOKS AHEAD TO TOPLESS 50 Every year at the 3/8-mile Stewart, OH oval known as Skyline Speedway, one the races fans look forward to the most is the Topless 50. The 2004 version of this race, set for Friday, April 16th, promises to be another stellar event, paying $2000 to win and $175 to start. Steve Lucas and Ralph Withem traded the lead 3 times over the final 6 laps and, when all was said and done, Lucas wound up victorious over Withem and Mike Benedum. This Friday, April 9th, Skyline will host a regular racing program in all divisions (Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, V6's and 4-Cylinders) as well as an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. Also on hand will be the children's mini-wedges. Gates open at 5pm with Hot Laps at 7pm and Racing at 8pm. For more information, call the track at (740)-662-4111 or visit their website at www.skylinespeedway.com Skyline Speedway is a 3/8-mile high banked oval located 15 miles east of Athens, OH 4.2 miles off US 50 on County Road 53. Can't wait for this race. Always a good show. 2002 was also a super show as well. I do belive 36 cars signed in in 2002. Earl leaders included Barry Doss in his number 13 RJ Conley in 71c and Delmas Conley in 71. Bout midway through the race all eyes were focused on a Hard charging Bart Hartman. Coming down the front straightaway to pass D Conley for the lead they got together, and Hartman hit the fence. That ened his night. Conley continued to lead until a restart with 3 laps to go. Conley slipped high in the turn and the Bristol Bullit Mike Benedum took the lead and held on the rest of the way to pick up the paycheck and take it back to Bristol Wva. Always a good show can't wait for this years version.
